Research Minor - Chemistry

Students who have completed Chemistry 112/112L, 114/114L, Math 102/102L, and at least one semester of General Biology, University Physics, Physical Geology, or Math 123 with a grade point of 3.0 are eligible for admittance to the Research Minor in Chemistry. After obtaining the above credentials, the student may select a faculty mentor under whose guidance a suitable project can be implemented.

Note - Research
The student will pick a faculty mentor based on research interests, and the mentor and student together will choose two other faculty to serve on the student’s committee. An oral presentation of the research results is required. The faculty mentor will determine the appropriate seminar, colloquium, symposium, or conference for the student’s oral presentation.
Statistics - 6 semester hours
Six hours to be selected from any two of the following courses: Supportive Electives - 6 semester hours
Courses not required in the major, but courses selected by the committee. |
