AIS 475 - Native Food Systems

Unique Course
This course will examine the relationships of Indigenous food, history and culture of Native nations across North America. This course will include a focus on political backgrounds as they pertain to Indigenous food systems as well as the outcomes of food experiences in the lives of Indigenous peoples through a Native lens. Readings will include creation stories, historic accounts, scientific articles, and current works involving traditional and contemporary Indigenous food systems.
