ENGL 426 - History/Structures of EnglishUnique Course This course offers students a comprehensive historical background for understanding Modern English. It also explores such issues as attitudes toward language; varieties of English; regionalisms and their contributions to the richness of English: the interconnection of language, culture and identity; and language acquisition. Contemporary topics such as bilingualism, multilingualism, inclusive language and standardization are also explored. 3 semester hours
