The major in Graphic Design and Communication is available through the departments of art and mass communication. The emphasis is on the creation and manipulation of graphics and images. Students learn the basics of drawing, design, and photo imaging. The principles learned are applied in a series of computer courses where students create images and employ their creations to communicate specific messages to an identified public.
In lieu of an exit exam, Graphic Design and Communication students are required to produce an exit portfolio during their final semester. The portfolio will be reviewed by two professors from the Mass Communication department.
