The Physical Science major is a collaborative major shared by Black Hills State University and Dakota State University. Courses not offered at BHSU will be available through DSU via online and DDN delivery methods.
The Physical Science major is designed to offer students unique educational experiences not offered by traditional physical science majors, through 12 credit hours of research, internship, special topics classes, and seminar. Students have the opportunity to interact directly with the Deep Underground Science and Engineering Lab (DUSEL) or with other organizations such as the EROS Data Center, NASA, the US Forest Service, the McNenny State Fish Hatchery, County Weed & Pest Programs, the US Department of Agriculture, and the Bureau of Land Management. These educational experiences will provide students with long-term career benefits through the development of unique skills and perspectives and through professional networking.
