The Master of Science in Strategic Leadership (MSSL) provides students with an interdisciplinary understanding of leadership theory and the critical strategies necessary to impact change. BHSU Educational Outreach oversees the Master of Science in Strategic Leadership graduate program. Their website is located at www.bhsu.edu/MSSL. This graduate degree is designed to support career advancement in government and non-profit organizations as well as in the military.
The curriculum focuses on an interdisciplinary approach to prepare leaders to guide strategic planning through effective communication and creative problem-solving methods; articulate and implement an organization’s vision; and encourage professional growth in others by leading change through proactive group facilitation. This degree is offered as an on-line program. Graduates completing this program will:

Admissions Requirements
Applicants must:

Complete online application for Graduate Studies and submit self assessment of leadership potential |

- |
Submit official BS/BA transcript from an accredited college/university with evidence of cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale |

Submit five letters of recommendation; three from professors in BA/BS degree program, one from an employer, and one from a person of the applicant’s choice. The recommendation letters should provide the university with evidence of the applicant’s potential for academic success in graduate studies and professional success as a leader. |

Take 9 hours of electives from the following:
- LDR 504 - Leadership Comm. & Conflict Resolution (USD)
- LDR 501 - Advanced Leadership Theory and Practice (USD)
- LDR 580 - Service Learning Experience in Civic Leadership (USD)
- TET 553 - Personal and Organizational Change (USD)
