This program is offered through the College of Education.
No Child Left Behind 2002 - As a result of this law, K-12 Paraprofessionals (teacher aides/assistants) must now have specific qualifications. Those paraprofessionals hired after the enactment of this law whose positions are funded by Title I must meet one of the following requirements:

Complete at least two years of post-secondary study |

Obtain an associate’s (or higher) degree |

Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate through a formal state or local academic assessment, knowledge of and the ability to assist in instructing reading, writing and mathematics; or knowledge of, and the ability to assist in instructing reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate. |
Paraprofessionals hired before the date of enactment and whose positions are funded by Title I must meet one of the requirements above no later than 4 years after the date of enactment.
This program is offered through the College of Education. The paraprofessional courses in this program require a grade of “C” or better. Electives could include courses in art, early childhood, education, English, foreign language, language arts, mathematics, music, psychology, science, sociology, special education, and social science.
