Note - Research
Every year, faculty who are interested in mentoring a student in research will present research or discuss the areas of research in which they plan to mentor at a seminar. The student will pick a faculty mentor based on research interests, and the mentor and student together will choose two other faculty to serve on the student’s committee. The committee will determine the elective courses for the minor. Restricted Electives - Supportive Electives - 12 semester hours
Interdisciplinary Sequence: A sequence of approximately 10 semester hours of course work that develops a depth of understanding in a field related to the application of mathematics is required. The following sequences will satisfy this requirement: Note
Additional sequences must have the approval of the student’s research committee and the Mathematics Department Chair. If an additional supportive course is necessary to obtain 12 hours, the committee shall select the course. |
