Research - Chemistry

Return to: Programs
Students who have completed Chemistry 112/112L, 114/114L, Math 102/102L, and at least one semester of General Biology, University Physics, Physical Geology, or Math 123 with a grade point of 3.0 are eligible for admittance to the Research Minor in Chemistry. After obtaining the above credentials, the student may select a faculty mentor under whose guidance a suitable project can be implemented.

Note - Research
Every year, faculty who are interested in mentoring a student in research will present research or discuss the areas of research in which they plan to mentor at a seminar. The student will pick a faculty mentor based on research interests, and the mentor and student together will choose two other faculty to serve on the student’s committee. The committee will determine the elective courses for the minor. Statistics - 6 semester hours
Six hours to be selected from any two of the following courses: Supportive Electives - 6 semester hours
Courses not required in the major, but courses selected by the committee. |
