Research Minor - History

This minor will be offered primarily to History majors. Student who have completed 15 hours of their required major with a an average grade point of 3.0 in their history classes, and who have permission from their faculty mentor, will be admitted into the research minor

Note - Research

The student will pick a faculty mentor based on research interests, and the mentor and student together will choose two other faculty to serve on the student’s committee. An oral presentation of the research results is required. The faculty mentor will determine the appropriate seminar, colloquium, symposium, or conference for the student’s oral presentation.

Program Requirements

MCOM 488 - Research Communication 3 semester hours
To include advanced desktop publishing, oral communication, word processing & general photography techniques.

Restricted Electives - Foreign Language

SPAN 101 - Introductory Spanish I 4 semester hours
SPAN 102 - Introductory Spanish II 4 semester hours

Supportive Electives - 6 semester hours
