    This is a strategic approach to developing synergy between the various communication tools available to companies. Students will examine the use of advertising, personal selling, sales promotions, and public relations. The impact of Internet communications will also be addressed. Students will learn how these tools may be used together to develop strategies for communicating with consumers, publics, suppliers, companies within distribution systems, and business-to-business markets within the global marketplace.

    An introductory course for graduate students that identifies the organisms and areas in ecology and evolutionary ecology that link best to genomics and specifically functional genomics, the branch of genomics that determines the biological function of genes and their products. Molecular techniques, databases, and analysis of genomic data are discussed. Students are required to have taken a genetics course prior to enrollment.

  • ED 520 - Single Subject Research Methodology

    CRSE Type Unique Course
    This course is designed to provide the learner with readings, discussions, and other learning experiences in the area of single subject research methodology. The intent of the course is to provide learners from a variety of disciplines (e.g., education, psychology, sociology, health sciences) with an opportunity to acquire competencies related to planning, implementing, and analyzing the effectiveness of individualized interventions or therapies (e.g, academic tutoring, behavior modification, mental health treatment regiments, physical rehabilitation). Single subject is not specific to any discipline or age level. Thus, the methodology is often used in applied fields of psychology, education, human behavior and health/medicine. In this course, a general method is described for conducting and interpreting research where individuals serve as their own control, rather than using another individual/group.

    This course is designed for teachers who will use literature written for children and young adults to teach the content of their curricula. The course is for graduate students interested in knowing about the content of literature for children and young adults. Topics of discussion include: the range of literature for children and young adults, evaluation and value of their literature, strategies for incorporating children’s and young adult literature into curricula, and the historical development of children’s and young adult literature.
